I absolutely knew it's under development, and that's not what I mean.
Anyway, I've tried almost all that tools (i have used Mx before btw), no risk (to affraid) at all, it just turn back to early settup if conflicted.
We'll never know/learn what will happen if we are never tried.
Even setting grub work just fine. now my boot up screen no more flat blue, but has Mx theme mode, nice touch!
just try it.. you will like it! smile

Re: MX tools for Debian and Q4OS

Sorry I misunderstood your last post VegasLinuxQ4, glad youre enjoying it. I also run MX LInux as Ive been using it since MX16, so Im very familiar with MX Tools and the other features. It always seems a bit odd seeing MX Tools with Q4OS.
Right now Im running PCLinuxOS Debian,Q4OS,MX Linux, Spiral Linux and Neptune Linux, all Debian based distros.

I dont personally use MX Tools in Q4OS as I prefer to keep it a bit more vanilla and truer to its original form. I think Q4OS should continue to create its own tools and features to keep itself more separate and unique from other distros.

It's ok, I just look for someone who tested on it share their exp, about the same config settup that (i think) may conflict.
I'm happy i tried it and can share through so another noobs like me no need to much worry.
I like to see if next q4os more focused on compatibility and functionality issues rather than making another tool.
thanks for reply smile

Re: MX tools for Debian and Q4OS

Totally agree as functionality, compatibility and stability are far more important to me than additional tools and unneeded features. Thats what attracted me to Q4OS as it gave you some features and addons but didnt go overboard. I use the KDE version so overall its a great experience with few issues.

Tasted, except pclo & neptune -what make this 2 unique?. If Q4OS is clearly unique, lite but powerfull & rich (compared to mx that rich with ram usage consequences).
what make you run that multiple distros at the same time? me, tasted per 3 distros in the same laptop was to much.

Re: MX tools for Debian and Q4OS

I test distros on a regular basis and share the info on different forums. Neptune isnt particularly unique but PCLOSDebian is a non-systemd distro with some unique design features. The TDE version of Q4OS is a bit unique but is supported much better than other distros with TDE versions. The KDE version isnt as unique but the Q4OS features and the lightness of the KDE version makes it nice to use.
I test distros on separate drives, I dont mix them and test them both in live session and on hardware, I dont use VMs.

I'm not sure there are more distros with TDE's default version (or i missed?), that's why i like q4os. If there are another TDE Distros, Show me the names that u've mentioned using TDE by default, i'll like to try them.

For me, Trinity's most complicated to port-patched to a distro than other DE's i've tried (xfce-easier, kde, lqxt-tricky, mate, budgie, cinnamon, etc - WM not mentioned as it's not DE)
I've done several exp with other distros using trinity (add-port-patch manually), just can't get it nice matched, but q4os has done it nicely & beautifull! SALUTE!
Then i think q4os has done many good tweaks & patches in trinity so TDE has created with stability & solid.

Re: MX tools for Debian and Q4OS

I never said other distros use TDE by default. There are other distros that have TDE versions, typically community versions such as PCLinuxOS. The focus Q4OS had on Trinity really helped make it a very cohesive distro both in use and appearance. I used it for quite sometime when I had mostly older hardware but I use newer hardware now and much prefer the KDE version. It offers me better features and customization, as well ease of use.

Nice to have choices.

You have already asked a very similar question about Q4OS Experimental apps available on Sourceforge here: https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.ph … 463#p28463. Please see my answer there.

Yes I ask about snapshoot too...
There, u've answear nothing yet, my question is pretty clear about "How to", not "what is qsi".
Btw, if you read the titlle of TS it's so clear ; "MX tools for Debian and Q4OS", then i ask about how to do in Debian...

Still wait for Q4OS team help... smile
