Unwanted Desktop Icons & Files

Hi all.

Running Q4OS KDE 3.9.1-n2.

As you can see in the screenshot attached I have only one file on my desktop but in the Desktop folder there is a bunch of .desktop files. This in itself is a little annoying but, to make matters worse, when I switch DEs and load up TDE for example, the icons appear on that desktop.

Can these files be deleted or hidden? What are they and why are they there?

You should be able to simply delete them if you do not want them to be displayed in either DE.

Or you can edit them and add line at the bottom:

OnlyShowIn=TDE;

Thanks. Deleted. I just wasn't sure if this was a safe move.
