How to set DEFAULT (installed) printer? [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I discovered Q4OS a few days ago, installed it and I really enjoy it!

I have a question yet: How to set the default printer?

First I installed my ML-1640 printer driver for my Samsung laser printer via CUPS, as the normal way in Trinity (TDE). After that I installed CUPS PDF printer (driver) via Synaptic. But that installation appearently changed the ML-1640 Samsung printer to be not the default any longer, but the CUPS PDF printer took over, and now that PDF printer of CUPS is the default one. I discovered the status of the printers in Libreoffice, as I called the print option (CTRL-P), and then looked at the detailled status view. Of course in that view I cannot change the setup of the default printer.

How could I change the default printer of CUPS PDF back to my Samsung ML-1640 status? In other words: how to put my Samsung printer to the default one again?

Thank you very much for helping!

Kind regards,

paulus

Re: How to set DEFAULT (installed) printer? [SOLVED]

Hi all,

I just found the utility system-config-printer in Synaptic, installed it, and voila: a graphical way to adjust my printer preferences!

So this problem is solved.

Kind regards,
