[Solved] How to install on Q4OS Xfce DE?

Hi.

I've installed Plasma and have all of Discover, Muon, and Synaptic working. When I switch to the Xfce desktop environment, however, which I installed from the Welcome Screen, I have the following issues:

- Discover: I get the message "You have no authentication to execute this operation"

- Muon: I get the message "This operation cannot continue since proper authentication was not provided"

- Synaptic: Simply refuses to execute.

Is there a way to gain 'authentication' so that I can install programmes while inside the Xfce DE? Or can I only install from Plasma and/or TDE?

Installing from the command line works, btw, but I'd rather not use that method as I tend to break things when straying outside the repos.

Thanks.

It's a Q4OS issue, however the fix is easy. You only need to install the "policykit-1-gnome" package:
$ sudo apt install policykit-1-gnome
The issue will be fixed within the next Q4OS release.

Great!

Thanks for the quick response and the seemingly easy fix.

I'll try it out as soon as I get the chance later today.

Yep. I can confirm this works perfectly! I'll mark this thread 'solved'.

Thanks again.
